The river Liffey winds deviously through an area called the Liffey Valley. It flows through Leixlip, Lucan and skirts around Palmerstown on its journey to the ocean at Dublin City. Here in Lucan is the home of the West County Musical Society. it's members come from the surrounding area, from all walks of life and from all age groups. They all have something in common, their love of music, their joy in singing and the ability to break into song at the drop of a hat. They also love to party.

The West County Musical Society has been in existence since 1980. To date we have staged seven musicals, the most recent being "Fiddler on the Roof" which was a great success and played to packed audiences for four nights. We have performed numerous choral works in both the National Concert hall and the Royal Hospital, Kilmainham. |

Our musical director Sarah Darlington has been with us for almost a year.
She was originally from Celbridge and is now living in Maynooth, where she studied music.
Sarah is a very hard worker and is dedicated to her music.
She has earned a great deal of respect where she is known.
Our chairman is Terry Nealon of Leixlip.
This is his second term of office and he brings a great deal of energy and imagination to the
society.
